The Copper Brown Blues Band and its
current members Sam Zuidema (Guitar, Vocals, Harp), Matt Gonsiorek (Guitar, Sax), Matt Palsgrove (Bass Guitar), and Jimi
Pinkl (Drums) each have shared a passion for music since day one. Beginning as a rock band in 2006 they played and performed songs
by artists such as Creedence Clearwater Revival and Steppenwolf. Today, Black Cat Bone's rare sound is a combination of their
influences from Ten Years After to Johnny Winter, Albert King to Rory Gallagher, and John Mayall to Elmore James.
With the addition of Matt Shaver (vocalist) and Matt Gonsiorek (guitarist) in early 2006, the newly-formed group
transformed into the band known as Bottom Line. Lasting successfully together for months, Bottom Line played several memorable
gigs. A personal favorite was a performance for the Hannah Beardsley Middle School Variety Show where they received an encore
as well as additional praise for drummer Jimi Pinkl's talented one handed solo after a drumstick mishap. In addition, Bottom
Line placed 4th on June 9th, 2007 in the local park district's Battle of the Bands against many other talented bands (they were also the youngest and most newly-formed
band there). Tastes developed and the band gradually evolved into a blues band. Losing Matt Shaver and switching Sam to
vocals to achieve a bluesier feel, as well as undergoing many name changes, Bottom Line is now recognized as The
Copper Brown Blues Band. Deriving the name from blues great Muddy Waters, Copper Brown is a flash of the past - music that
floods the mind and reaches the soul. They truly are a genuine treat for all blues lovers, and they will continue jamming
for as long as their hands are able to hold a guitar, harmonica, drumsticks, or a microphone.
